My yoke is easy, and my burden is light

My yoke is easy, and my burden is light

(based on the talk "His Yoke Is Easy and His Burden Is Light" by Sister J. Anette Dennis - First Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency, Oct 2022)

What comes to your mind when you hear this quote? Matthew 11:28–30
- It is the best advertisement.
The world's ads usually promise you a product which will fix all of your problems. The world and our natural man try to tells us that having difficulties is not normal and we should try to make our life better for ourselves. That there is a pill for any type of pain and our goal is to eliminate all difficulties.
Jesus's ads are different - they are real. He doesn't tell you that He will eliminate all your pain and you will be 100% happy, all the time. But rather He tells us that: it is part of God's plan for us to go thru difficulties and the best way to go thru them is to do it in His way. To come unto Him and learn of Him and then we will receive peace, not a temporal, but lasting peace, not like the world gives is, but like the Lord gives it. And that's one of the main messages of the Gospel of Jesus Christ: to learn how to look at difficulties and challenges in life so that you can receive lasting peace.

- "ye that labour and are heavy laden"
Usually those people which are working hard and have lots of load to carry (physically or mentally) fall under the pressure of the world and get crushed. This message is for them. If they come to Christ, He will show them how to find peace in their difficulties.

- Easy yoke and light burden.
It's almost nonsense to put these words together. It's like putting opposite colours in the same sentence:
"White black and red green." Usually yoke is something strong, negative and difficult almost impossible to overcome. It is almost the opposite of "easy". The same with "burden". It is negative, painful and hard. If it wasn't then it wouldn't be a burden really, right? It will be uncomfortable.

How many wounded individuals do we have among us?
- We all have some wounds. Some old, some recent. Some physical, and some mental.

How often do we judge others based on their outward appearance and actions, or lack of action?
- "I have come to more fully appreciate the example of our dear Savior as He spent so much of His time ministering to others with love."

Judgement vs Charity
- Have you judged someone recently?
- Have you showed love towards someone recently?
- "Let’s lay down that heavy burden; it isn’t ours to carry. Instead, we can pick up the Savior’s yoke of love and compassion."
- "His love inspired them to want to change their lives. Living His way brings joy and peace,"
- "His love will flow through us and make all that He asks not only possible but eventually much easier and lighter and more joyful than we could ever imagine."
- "they did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord." Mosiah 24:15

Who among us might have hidden sorrows?
- "Everyone needs to feel that they really do belong and are needed in the body of Christ."
- Satan is influencing us to divide between each other.
Abuse or prejudice towards different identifiers.
Judging brother or sister not following or leaving the Church.

Loving as the Savior loves
- "be yoked with Him and help foster a feeling of love and belonging in the hearts of all our Father’s children."

Temples

Life is more than we think. God knows all and wants to share with us more and more of His wisdom. The temple is a special, peaceful place, where we can stop, ponder and receive more of that knowledge. This is not just additional, extra doctrine or place we go when we need. The temple is the "desert" of our dinner. It is the final step of our conversion. It is a sweet experience in our spiritual journey. But just as we have to eat to live: after a dinner there is breakfast, lunch and then another dinner. The same is with the temple, it is not the end. We have to go over and over again. Just like the conversion: we fail, repent and convert over and over again. And we enjoy and learn more and more. We change and experience differently every time we eat from the desert. Very nice video explaining about temples. Reminding us how important they are in our live. Temples Endow Individuals with Power and Seal Families for Eternity Download this video There are so man...

Jesus Christ - The Father

In the book of Ether there is a very special and insightful event telling us many truths about Jesus Christ, us and the plan of salvation. Here are the main points I picked up while reading today: A. Jesus Christ is The Father of all He created the worlds (our planet and all other planets, stars, galaxies and possibly other inhabited planets). He is our Father, because He created Adam and Eve. And all this He did under the instructions of God, who send Him to do it for us. B. Jesus Christ didn’t have body of flesh and blood beforehand. He was the great Jehovah in the Old Testament, leading the Israelites from the cloud. We can suppose that similarly to the brother of Jacob, Moses had seen the finger of God writing down the Ten Commandments on the stone plates. Just like all of us, Jesus Christ had to be born on earth, live, die and through the resurrection receive a glorified, immortal body of flesh and bones - just like God. Then they both appeared to the young boy Jos...
